Faith Is the "Most Important Part of My Life". Says Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg's career has spanned multiple decades, platforms, and genres, but what the actor is most grateful for is his long-lasting faith. Wahlberg, 42, is a devout Roman Catholic, and in a new interview with Parade Magazine, he opens up about his faith.

"It's the most important part of my life," the Ted actor said of his religion. "I don't try to push it on anybody, and I don't try to hide it."

Wahlberg's wife of 12 years, Rhea Durham, converted to Catholicism before their wedding, and their four children attend church on a regular basis.

"If the kids are good, I'll have doughnuts for them at 6:30 in the morning, and I'll say, 'You guys gotta let Mommy sleep in!'" Wahlberg said, describing his Sunday morning routine. "I'll go to church at 7:30 and everybody will be eating breakfast when I come home. Then we'll go to church again at 10:30, if things aren't too hectic. Or if one of the kids has a game we'll watch them play. It's a nice family day."

The veteran actor is currently promoting his film Lone Survivor, about SEAL Team 10, and said his wife had a strong reaction to the project.

"My wife couldn't talk for 45 minutes after she saw the movie," he revealed. "All she kept thinking about were the sons and fathers and mothers and daughters out there fighting for our freedom. You take it for granted."

We Are Set To End Strike-ASUU

There are strong indications that the strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities since July 1, will be called off today.

Feelers from a meeting by the National Executive Council of ASUU held at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State on Monday indicated this.

Though no official of the union was ready to confirm this, a source, who attended the meeting, said members of the union's negotiating team had agreed to call off the strike.

According to the source, the National President of the union, Dr. Nasir Fagge, will address members of the press today at noon where he is likely going to announce the suspension of the strike.

But before then another source at the meeting had confided in one of our correspondents as of 10pm that the NEC members comprising all the branch chairmen of ASUU and zonal coordinators were still deliberating on the issue.

The source said, "The meeting is still ongoing. No decision has been reached, but an official position of the union would be issued by the President the moment we are through with the meeting."

The leadership of the union had last week after a meeting with the Federal Government representatives in Abuja, promised to end the strikewithin a week.

This came after the Federal Government provided evidence that it had domiciled N200bn in the Central Bank of Nigeria for the provision of infrastructure in the nation's public universities among other sundry issues.

Meanwhile, journalists who gathered at the venue to cover the outcome of the meeting were harassed by some ASUU officials who called them unprintable names.

The Chairman, ASUU, FUT, Minna, Dr. Abdulfatai Jimoh, particularly assaulted the Daily Trust Correspondent, Aliyu Hamagan.

Jimoh had earlier thought Hamagan was a member of the union and invited him to come closer. He then asked, "Who brought this stupid people inside? What are they doing here?"

Hamagan quickly responded by saying, "I am one of the people you are calling stupid. I will not have you insult us like  that."

Abdulfatai on finding out that he was speaking with a journalist pushed Hamagan and asked him to leave the premises saying that, "You people are intruding, we did not invite you, get out of this place now."
The meeting started about 11:30am

Chris Brown Was Sued For $3 Million-Frank Ocean's Cousin

Chris Brown is responsible for more than $3 million dollars in pain and suffering endured by Frank Ocean's cousin, the latter says in a new lawsuit.

According to legal documents filed as a result of the massive brawl outside an L.A. recording studio earlier this year, Chris is a goon who needs to PAY.

Sha'Keir Duarte claims Chris and his fellow thugs put a hurting on him in the fight between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean and their posses in January.

Duarte claims that Brown's bodyguard specifically brutalized him, and in his court filing, he even itemizes his list of damages, complete with amounts:

$1,000,000 for pain, suffering and inconvenience
$1,000,000 for emotional distress
$1,000,000 for punitive damages
$60,000 for medical expenses
Sounds a bit high ... but that's for the courts to decide.

Brown, for his part, has already filed counter lawsuit against Duarte, accusing him of provoking the fight and attacking him with kicks and punches.

Ocean, for his part, declined to pursue the matter.

Chris Brown Just Wants to Be "Regular" Guy

R. Kelly recently likened Chris Brown to MLK and even Jesus Christ Himself.

Kid Ink is not going that far. Not by a long shot. But he does have his back.

The artist, who has a hit track in "Show Me" featuring Brown, says Chris just wants to be seen as regular again. A modest goal for most. Lofty for him.

This is, after all, a man who has beaten the crap out of Rihanna, and failed to improve his image in the court of public opinion in almost five years.

Incident after incident of rage and misbehavior haven't helped, but he knows it, and Kid Ink gave fans an update on how the troubled star is doing in rehab.
